John and Molly Get Along this Wednesday
This Wednesday is my favorite monthly comedy event – John and Molly Get Along. Sibling comics John and Molly Knefel hail from Iowa and both attended Macalester College. They’ve been bringing comedians together at their monthly comedy night at, where else, (Le) Poisson Rouge, for a few months now. I’ve attended several times and had a lot of laughs at these events.
The nights feature 4 or 5 hilarious comics, with John and Molly telling sometimes beyond awkward but relatable and funny childhood and sibling rivalry stories in between. They also typically debut new episodes of their comedy series, which you can watch on their YouTube channel here.
I’m particularly excited about this week’s event because the funniest comic in New York City will be there – Kumail Nanjiani. While not Minnesotan, he did attend Grinnell College in Iowa and lived in Chicago for several years, earning him many midwestern points. He was also a guest on Radio Happy Hour last November. But the winning factor is that pretty much everything this guy says is hilarious. At least I think so.
Come this Wednesday and decide for yourself. It’s free and there will be other comics there, at least one of whom is bound to be funny.
