We had a great time at the most recent Happy Hour at Le Poisson Rouge – hope to see you all at the next one on May 4th!
On another note, about a month ago a fellow Minnesotan in NYC, Mr. Chaz Kangas, released an album about coming to grips with New York City as a mid-20s Midwesterner! He’s got the whole album “A Personal Reference” available for free on Bandcamp here. Give it a listen – I think you’ll enjoy! This past October when our homegrown hero Eyedea died, Chaz threw a benefit concert that raised money for the bereaved family – which is frankly wonderful.
I believe we may have shared it before on this blog, but I strongly recommend giving a listen to his ode to the North Star’s brightest city: Minneapolis
He’s going to be performing a short set tomorrow at Recoup Lounge (210 Rivington St, LES) so come out for dollar-shots (between 8 and 8:30), have a listen, and support Minnesotan artists in NYC!
And thanks to Hilary for this wonderful youtube find!
