Mason Jennings Ticket Competition, Donchya Know?

September 15, 2011
Hey Beautiful Minnesotans!

I’ve got some exciting news for MN-thusiasts in New York City! The Hawaii-born, but Minneapolis-transplant, pop-folk singer-songwriter Mason Jennings is currently on tour promoting his new album, appropriately titled Minnesota! He’ll be in NYC Saturday, September 24th at Irving plaza, tickets here.

Now for the extra-exciting part…

As an organization dedicated to creating community and promoting Minnesotan pride in New York City, once in a while Minneapple in the Big Apple has some pretty fun people reach out to us! You may remember recently we had Minnesota-based Love and Life Architects come round looking for a lady with Minnesotan charm and New York-sophistication. This time it’s everybody’s favorite multinational Clear Channel spin-off concert promoters, Live Nation! And they’ve given us a couple of tickets to the Mason Jennings concert to do with as we see fit (which means give them to you, obviously).

And we thought…what better excuse than a ticket-giveaway to get some of you Minnesotans to show some state pride?!

So here are the ground rules:
  1. This competition will be happening via the facebook group;
  2. You are asked to create the best possible representation of your immense pride for Minnesota in New York;
  3. Submissions can either be original pictures, or photoshop’d ridiculousness;
  4. You should upload your submission (up to 3 per facebook profile) to the album in the Minneapple facebook group called “Minneapple Ticket Giveaway” (which is here);
  5. Whichever single picture has the most ‘likes’ by midnight of Wednesday, September 21st will receive a ticket (and a +1) to the Mason Jennings concert September 24th – second place gets a shirt;
  6. We are very chill people, but will delete any images that are irrelevant (i.e. not making visual reference to BOTH Minnesota AND New York) or offensive;
  7. You pretty much automatically win if you hoist a Minnesotan flag at the UN building in Manhattan (I do not advise this, but it would make me immeasurably happy).
Let us know if you have any questions – and good luck!

my humble submission to kick things off:
